Impervious surfaces don't allow water to penetrate into the ground. Most driveways and sidewalks are made of impervious surfaces, but there are many beautiful ways to use pervious surfaces in their place.
Use these materials alone or in combination to replace your concrete or blacktop:
- Gravel
- Brick (set in sand, not concrete)
- Interlocking pavers
- Stepping stones
- Wood chips or other mulch
